If you need to do a lot of shopping, drive to Merritt Square Mall (777 E Merritt Island Causeway, Merritt Island) or Walmart (1500 E Merritt Island Causeway, Merritt Island). Both shopping centers are about 20 minutes from the port. Take the North Exit from the Airport, staying to the right, to S.R. Exit east (left) out of the airport onto NASA Boulevard and follow to U.S. Exit the airport south to the Central Florida Greenway/ S.R. 528 East (Toll Road) and continue directly to Port Canaveral, Exit 54A for A Terminals (CT-5, -6, -8 and -10) or Exit 54B for B Terminals (CT-1 or CT-3). Fishlips Waterfront Bar & Grill (610 Glen Cheek Drive) is also walking distance (5-10 minutes) from Cruise Terminal 1. It's open daily for lunch and dinner plus brunch on Sundays. Similar to Grills, Fishlips features a seafood menu with things like lobster bisque, spicy gumbo, shark bites, peel-n-eat shrimp, wings and more. The baked lobster dinner and fried seafood combo platter are especially popular.
If you're flying into Orlando with time to spare, a nice option is to rent a car there, use it to explore the area around the Cape then return it at the port before your cruise. Past the compass and the photo sets is the general waiting area. If you come to the terminal and it’s not quite ready for passengers, CT 3 has room for 1,200 cruise passengers in this area, on either side of the main hallway. On either side of this you’ll find numerous alcoves, each with a large curved image of the ship.

Port Canaveral has lots of hotels near the port and many also offer free or discounted parking if you stay the night before your cruise. It’s located adjacent to port property, meaning you can be at your ship within minutes.
If you want the most convenience, check out parking at the actual port. Yes, it’s more expensive, but you can walk right to the ship. It also makes it easier to get back home when you return from your trip. From here you will pass the Disney terminal on your left. Eventually the road loops around toward the ship and the Royal Caribbean terminal. The Disney terminal's features include a cafe, play area and murals showing the Disney Cruise Line experience.
Port Canaveral continues to expand, but it does so in the context of sustainable tourism. The surrounding waters are a haven for marine life, including endangered manatees, plants and migratory birds. The landmark black-and-white Canaveral Lighthouse is nearby.
Cruise Terminals 5 and 6 also primarily service Carnival Cruise Line, as this brand usually has the most ships sailing out of Port Canaveral. Currently, Carnival plans to have Elation, Liberty, and Magic sailing from this cruise port.
